Frequently asked questions

Some questions are more common than others. If someone has already asked us about what you’re wondering, it’s quite likely you’ll find an answer to it here.

What does this service do?

This service allows owners of Renewable Energy Projects (REPs), as well as investors and other types of partners interested in REPs, to easily be find and be found by other actors.

REP owners can create project pages describing their projects. With the information available and searchable, potential partners and investor will then be able to find the project with ease. They will then hopefully contact you and together you will figure out how to collaborate. Just the same way, partners can create a profile for project owners to find.

Vestfind does not take any responsibility of future contacts.

Does this cost me anything?

There is both a trial version and several paid memberships. If you are not sure about if this could be of use, we encourage you to use the trial – it’s what it’s there for. This project is motivated by fuelling the transition to renewable energies worldwide, so we try to keep the costs low. However, in order to keep the servers running, the site free of ads, and some food on our tables, we are forced to have a little bit of renumeration.

Is there good chance that I can find a project, investor or partner?

Well, we can’t promise you that you’ll find what you’re looking for immediately. However, if your pitch is clear, and you’ve entered the right, searchable information, you’ve increased the chances you’ll be able to attract the right partner or investor to your cause. And, it’s an extraordinary time for finding investors and partners for REPs, with more competence and capital than ever is finding its way into the industry. And on top of that, this probably the best place to start looking for the competencies and partners you need.

Any tips for the sales-pitch?

The obvious tips are to fill in the form correctly, choose regions so that your project or profile can easily be found, and not to clutter with irrelevant information – too much information can distract from the key things you want to illuminate.

The less obvious tips is to take full use of the editor, highlight information, insert media, upload a project brief PDF. A clear pitch, with beautifully edited descriptions and easy to understand aspects of the project or profile summarized up front will make you stand out and be more attractive to your future partners.

Is there any reason for me to limit the information I provide on-line on the project?

No, you’ll have much better chances of being recognized as a potential project if the pitch is clear with more relevant information available. Execution ability, local knowledge and passion to get it done is usually the key aspect of a proposal, and sometimes even more important than the key data for the idea itself. Your bigger worry should probably be that you tell too little, so that partners or investors do not get interested enough. Although, maybe don’t post legally compromising information. Nobody wants that call from the lawyers.

Can I get help filling out the templates?

We’ve tried to design it so that it should be quite self-explanatory, but we also created some example projects and partner profiles, which you’ll be able to find by searching. Unfortunately we cannot assist you directly due to resource constraints.

Can we really solve global warming and create a better future for ourselves and our children?

Yes. Very much possible and plausible to do in a cost efficient manner. And as you may have guessed, that’s one big reason why this service exists – to help renewable energy projects come to fruition sooner rather than later.

Are the founders of this service pure geniuses to be worshipped?

The jury is still out on this one, but it seems likely and a reasonable idea. But maybe we’re a tad bit biased.

Can I contact you in any way - for feedback or comments?

Yes, of course – please just drop us a message on our contact page. We will try to answer all inquiries, but since we don’t yet employ any regular staff we reserve the right to be a bit rude and take our time replying to the best of our abilities.

RES, REP, PIP...what do all these things mean?

We know that the language of abbreviations can be both practical and annoying. Therefore, we’ve created a legend to help explain what some abbreviations stand for.

  • REP – Renewable Energy Project
  • RES – Renewable Energy System
  • PIP – Potential Investor or Partner
  • EPC – Engineering Procurement Construction
  • LCOE – Levelized Cost of Energy
  • O&M – Operation & Management
  • FID – Final Investment Decision
  • COD – Commisioning Operation Date

Something missing? Please contact us and we’ll be able to fix that.
